Scorecards and Tools

Scorecards collect data from the user, but have the additional ability to process the data and then perform a function depending on the result.   There are many applications of this kind of technology.  Examples might include:

• Assessing a patient’s health
• Assessing eligibility for insurance.
• Deciding which process to follow for a specific scenario.

This requires custom development as there are likely to be business rules to be implemented in the scorecard that are different in each case.  

Cost and technical implications: Medium to high cost, A simple scorecard that gives an answer to the user after the questions are entered might be relatively easy to implement.  A more complicated system which collects data and integrates with existing systems and processes will probably require significant customised development.
